GREENWOOD, MS – December 23, 2021 – Over the last five years, more than 100 drivers and helpers in the Waste Pro Central/Southern Mississippi Region have received the coveted Safety Award, totaling nearly $1 million in awards.
Moses Lee, a garbage truck driver from Waste Pro’s Greenwood, MS Division, is the latest Driver to earn his first $10,000 Safety Award, which is presented to drivers who go three years without an at-fault accident, injury, or property damage.
He is the second driver to earn the award in 2021; driver John Hankins also earned his first award in August. In addition, helper Marcus Jones earned a $5,000 Safety Award that is awarded to helpers who meet the same qualifications.
In addition to the safety requirements, drivers must maintain a clean truck, have a positive attitude, and provide excellent customer service to earn the award.
“It’s an honor to recognize our hard-working team members in the Greenwood community,” said Regional Vice President Chris Lockwood. “We are the only waste hauler to provide a safety award of this magnitude to our employees. Their dedication to safety, their community, and their career in the waste industry is unmatchable. We want to publicly praise them for all they do to maintain exceptional service levels that the Greenwood community expects and deserves.”
