10/8/2024 Cocoa Weather Update
Due to the probable impact of Hurricane Milton, Brevard Solid Waste facilities will be closing at noon on Wednesday, October 9th through Thursday, October 10th.
Waste Pro’s service schedule updates are as follows:
Grant-Valkaria
Wednesday – No services
Thursday – No services, No makeup day. Recycling will resume on Thursday, October 17th.
Friday – Residential and yard waste services will resume, pending if the landfill reopens.
Malabar
Wednesday – No services
Thursday – No services, No makeup day. Recycling will resume on Thursday, October 17th.
Friday – Residential and yard waste services will resume, pending if the landfill reopens.
Melbourne Village
Wednesday – Trash collection will run until 11 AM. Routes will begin early. No makeup day for any streets not collected. Please have your containers at the curb by 5 AM. Whatever is not collected by noon, please remove it from the curb and place it in a secure location. During high winds, these can be dangerous if left outside.
Thursday – No services
Friday – No services.
Saturday – Residential services are expected to resume, pending the re-opening of the landfill.

Wednesday – Residential collection only, if you are in a Condo, recycling will be postponed and will resume on Friday, October 18th, pending the re-opening of the local recycle facility.

Commercial Customers:
Wednesday – Priority will be placed on trash collection. Trucks will start early and run until 11 am. Commercial recycling will be serviced if time permits.

Columbus Day, Monday, October 14th – No service interruptions.
Veterans Day, Monday, November 11th – Office Closed. No commercial or residential collection, including yard waste and recycling. No make up days scheduled. Residential services will resume on your next scheduled collection day. Commercial services will resume on Tuesday.

Regular Pickup Schedule
All of Grant-Valkaria has garbage collection on Tuesday and Friday. We no longer run Wednesday and Saturday here.
Bulk/Appliances
Bulk items such as appliances, furniture, etc. are collected free of charge once per week.
Residential bulk waste and e-waste are collected one (1) day per week, on your second garbage service day of the week – either Friday or Saturday, depending on your service area.
Appliances, fluorescent light bulbs, and tires (4 tires per year pick up) are collected one (1) day per week on Thursdays. Please call the office at (321) 837-0055 to schedule.
Residential Recycling
Household recycling is collected one (1) time per week. Your pickup schedule is Thursday.

Commercial Recycling
Waste Pro is proud to announce S.C.O.R.E. (Saving Commercial Office Recyclables Everyday). Through this innovative program, Town of Grant-Valkaria residents are able to recycle office materials along with their residential pickup.
How does it work? Simply take your office recyclables home and place them in your bin or cart. Waste Pro will collect them curbside.

Residential Collection
Please place your household garbage, yard trash and recycling curbside by 6 a.m.
If you are physically unable to place your containers curbside, you may request a medical waiver from the town qualifying you for rear door services.
Waste Pro provides collection and disposal service for all household trash and garbage generated from residential customers which has been properly prepared and stored in a refuse container provided. Under the Modified Automated Cart Program you can also utilize your regular garbage cans along with the carts if you have excess garbage.
Vegetative waste shall be segregated from the garbage and household trash which shall be place in separate cart.

Services are provided six days per week, Monday through Saturday.
Waste will be collected in carts, mechanical dumpsters, open tops or compactors. Carts are available in 96-gallon size. Mechanical dumpsters are 2-, 4-, 6- or 8-cubic yards in size. Compactors and open tops come in sizes ranging from 17-40 cubic yards.
