Ft. Myers, FL – September 23, 2026 – For more than two decades, Connie Busch has been a driving force behind Waste Pro’s success in Southwest Florida, building relationships, supporting communities, and helping shape the company’s growth from the ground up.
Connie’s journey into the solid waste industry began with a connection that would define her career. Recruited by then Regional Manager Keith Banasiak, she joined the team during his transition to Waste Pro—marking the start of a professional relationship that has spanned over 25 years. “He’s family,” Connie says. “He’s a great judge of character, and I’ve always appreciated being part of something built on trust and respect.” Today, she continues that legacy under the leadership of Divisional Vice President Bill Jones, where she values the strong, people-first culture that starts at the top.
As a Major Account Sales Representative, Connie’s expertise lies in relationship building. From Florida Gulf Coast University and Florida Southwestern State College to Coconut Point Mall, she has worked with key institutions from their earliest stages, supporting everything from construction to long-term operations. Her role is rooted in connection: working closely with community leaders, business partners, and universities to ensure their evolving needs are met, from recycling initiatives to large-scale move-in and move-out coordination.
“What I love most about this industry is that you learn something new every day,” Connie shares. “People don’t always realize what goes into solid waste and recycling. I enjoy educating others and learning right alongside them.”
A typical day for Connie starts early, planning her schedule, connecting with clients, and coordinating meetings that keep operations running smoothly. But beyond logistics, it’s the relationships that keep her inspired. “These are the communities where my friends and family live. Being able to serve them and knowing Waste Pro cares just as much as I do means everything.”
Her career has been marked by growth, not just her own, but the company’s as well. From hands-on training in the field to witnessing Waste Pro’s expansion into major markets like Cape Coral and Lee County, Connie has embraced every step of the journey. “I’ve seen where we started and where we are today. We’re achieving incredible things, and I’m honored to be part of it.”
Among her proudest accomplishments is a deeply personal and meaningful honor: receiving a lifetime achievement award from Keep Lee County Beautiful, named after her late husband, Rudy Busch. Married for 55 years, Rudy dedicated his career to the solid waste and environmental community, including 25 years as the organization’s Executive Director. His passing in November 2025 left a profound impact on Connie, her family, and the broader community.
“Words can’t express what that recognition meant,” Connie reflects. “It was emotional, humbling, and incredibly special to our family.”
Outside of work, Connie is a proud mother of three daughters and a devoted grandmother. Her family spans from Southwest Florida to Tennessee, with grandchildren pursuing everything from academics to athletics—including a granddaughter attending Princeton on a tennis scholarship.
After 21 years, Connie remains as passionate as ever. “I can’t imagine being anywhere else. Waste Pro believes in people, and that’s what makes it special. As long as I’m working, growing, and building relationships, I feel fulfilled.”
