After a great suggestion by a resident who is a member of our Neighborhood Advisory Council, the Waste Pro USA has made available a dumpster for residents to discard their cardboard boxes from holiday presents. In an effort to support good crime prevention practices, the Winter Park Police Department is urging residents to drop off their cardboard boxes from electronic purchases and other valuable items instead of leaving them curbside for trash pick-up. Not advertising to the potential criminals what might be “available” in your residence is a good practice to help thwart off crime in your neighborhood. The dumpster is available for use now through December 31, 2015 to all residents and is located at the Winter Park Police Station (500 N Virginia Ave in Winter Park) on the west side of the building near the intersection of Virginia Ave and Swoope Ave.
