LONGWOOD, FL – October 20, 2021 – Longwood, FL-based Waste Pro USA has been named the third-largest privately-owned company in Central Florida on Orlando Business Journal’s annual Golden 100 list. This is the fifth consecutive year Waste Pro has earned a spot in the Top Five.
John Jennings, Board Chairman of Waste Pro, founded the company in 2001 and has since built it into one of the fastest-growing private companies nationwide – in its first month, revenues only reached $800; revenue is projected to exceed $900 million in 2022. Today, Waste Pro operates in 11 Southeastern states with Florida being its most dominant market area. Overall, Waste Pro serves more than two million customers throughout the southeast employing more than 4,000 people with a fleet of over 3,000 trucks operating out of 80 locations.
John’s son, Sean Jennings, serves as President and CEO and has led the continued growth of the company.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized for the fifth privately owned allows consecutive year in the Top Five of the Golden 100,” he said. “Being privately owned enables Waste Pro to stay the course and continue to build our business through strategic, organic growth within our existing footprint.”
In addition to the Golden 100, Orlando Business Journal also recognized Waste Pro as one of Central Florida’s “Fast 50,” which recognizes the region’s fastest-growing companies. The company’s growth, Sean said, has continued to boom despite the pandemic.
“Garbage is something that always will exist no matter what is happening in the world around us,” Sean said. “Our drivers and helpers still are on the front lines, making sure all of our customers’ trash is picked up on time every time.”
Also in 2021, business magazine Florida Trend named Waste Pro the 81st largest private company in the state, and industry magazine Waste Today recognized Waste Pro as the 11th largest waste hauler in North America, as well as the nation’s largest private hauler.
