MEMPHIS, TN – Waste Pro, the largest privately owned solid waste collection, disposal and recycling company of the Memphis metropolitan area, acquired Hernando-based Unified Waste Systems, LLC. This acquisition, which is effective July 29th, is strategic for Waste Pro, allowing the company to more effectively serve residential and commercial customers in the rapidly-growing footprints of Mississippi and Tennessee.
“This recent acquisition will allow for greater service flexibility,” said Waste Pro Southern Regional Vice President, Roland Joyner. “We are proud to continue supporting the community through this new partnership with the Unified Waste team.”
Since 2005, Unified Waste has provided residential and commercial solid waste collection, recycling and dumpster rental services to customers in the Northern Mississippi and Memphis metropolitan areas. The company also owned and operated an on-site construction and demolition landfill, giving dumping access to other local solid waste service providers.
Waste Pro will assume ongoing customer contracts and service will begin on August 1st.
Waste Pro has a history of remaining operationally nimble by serving customers based out of hauling facilities conveniently located within their municipalities and staffed by local employees.
“We knew that this was the right partnership for us when they offered to retain all of our employees,” said Unified Waste Founder and Managing Member, Jim Becher. “Our business runs on delivering superior customer service and our team members make this happen every day on the job. We are certain that Waste Pro has what it takes to carry on this legacy of added value to our community,” said Unified Waste Residential Services Manager, Connie Becher.
Waste Pro is one of this country’s fastest growing privately owned waste collection, recycling, processing and disposal companies, operating in nine southeastern states. Serving more than two million residential and 40,000 commercial customers from over 500 operating locations, Waste Pro is headquartered in Longwood, Florida, and maintains more than 250 exclusive municipal contracts and franchises.
