LONGWOOD, FL – March 27, 2018 – With more than 3 fatal accidents involving workers every month, waste collection is one of the ten most dangerous jobs in the United States. To encourage our employees to exhibit practices which are safe for themselves as well as for the communities they service, Waste Pro established the $10,000 Safety Award.
At a ceremony held on March 15th at Waste Pro’s Ft. Pierce, Florida facility, the company recognized the most recent Safety Award winner, Arnulfo “Fito” Flores, who is receiving the honor for a third time, making him one of only four employees to do so.
Employees earn the Waste Pro Safety Award as a result of: a spotless work record for three years, excellent customer service, no accidents, injuries, or property damage, having a positive attitude and attendance record, along with a well-kept truck.
With Waste Pro since 2007, Flores is a roll-off garbage truck driver providing services to the City of Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County on his daily routes. He’s a resident of Ft. Pierce.
“Always willing to above and beyond what is expected of him, even in inclement weather, Fito exemplifies what is commonly referred to as the ‘Distinguishable Difference’ in Waste Pro. He is a leader among his coworkers and it our pleasure to present him with his 3rd Safety Award. It’s well deserved,” stated Adolfo Covelli, Assistant Division Manager.
Waste Pro USA, Inc. is one of the country’s fastest growing privately owned waste collection, recycling, processing and disposal companies, operating in nine southeastern states. Waste Pro with revenues exceeding $600 million serves more than two million residential and 40,000 commercial customers from over 75 operating locations.
