For the sixth year in a row, Waste Pro’s Daytona Beach division has partnered with the Fraternal Order of Police Jim White Lodge 40 in New Smyrna Beach for the annual Waste Pro Truck Pull to benefit the Special Olympics.
Each year, local businesses and organizations sponsor teams to pull a Waste Pro rear load truck 100 feet – whichever team does so fastest is the winner. For this year’s event, Waste Pro offered up a new 40,000 lb. truck that is used in New Smyrna Beach.
This year’s winner was the Daytona Beach Police Department, who completed the pull in 18.4 seconds. Overall, $1600 was raised for the Special Olympics.
