PEMBROKE PINES, FL March 5th – The City of Pembroke Pines, by a 5-0 vote, selected Waste Pro as its new solid waste and recycling service provider on February 6th. The five year contract includes residential service to more than 40,000 homes and approximately nine hundred commercial businesses.
Beginning June 1st, Waste Pro will provide Pembroke Pines residents twice per week garbage collection and once per week recycling collection services. Additionally, bulk items and yard waste will be collected twice per month. Service schedules will remain the same, with Waste Pro providing new recycling carts to each resident.

Residents will also see the implementation of a new Household Hazardous Waste Collection program. This program will consist of monthly Hazardous Waste Collection at Waste Pro’s Pembroke Pines location, conducted on the first Sunday of every month from 8 a.m until 4 p.m. for City Residents. Additional collection sites and dates will be announced in the near future.
