Lecanto, FL — February 6, 2018 — Citrus County Blessings was recently gifted a generous donation from an unexpected source, a local waste and recycling hauler. Waste Pro, a company whose motto is “Caring for Our Communities”, ended up paying Blessings’ rent for the entire year.
“After attending a County Commission meeting last Fall, amending a lease for the organization, I had the pleasure of meeting Steve Cade from Waste Pro. Steve, Division Manager of Waste Pro’s Citrus County Operation, and Keith Banasiak, Regional Vice President – SW Florida, attended the same meeting and were interested in learning more about the Blessings program” said Grace Hengesbach, Executive Director, “ Within a few weeks they had done their due diligence in researching the organization and came out for a site visit.”
According to Feeding America, 1 in 7 Americans struggles with hunger. In almost every county in America there are pockets of Americans that struggle to place food on their tables and food has become an unaffordable luxury. “Public food banks are doing more than ever before, but sadly are unable to keep up with the need. Grace, her staff members, volunteers and donors are making a visible difference every day in the struggle to end hunger in Citrus County. Waste Pro is proud to be a community partner and assist Blessings’ goal to build a community free of hunger” said Banasiak.
