The City of Treasure Island has decided to outsource solid waste collection services, and we are proud to be the selected partner to take care of this vital service for the City of Treasure Island residents. As your long-time residential recycling partner, we are excited to begin providing your trash and yard waste collections starting the week of October 6, 2025.   

There will be a few adjustments to your current collection services to keep in mind going forward, including:

• Trash Collections – Your trash collection service days will remain the same as currently being provided. Whether you’re Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday, it will stay the same two days.
• Yard Waste – Yard waste will be collected on the same two days as your trash collection service days. The grey cart is now for trash and yard waste collections. Any yard waste that does not fit in your grey cart can be placed curbside for collection if it is bagged or bundled and two cubic yards or less. Loose materials will not be collected so please follow these instructions.  
• Recycling – All recycling collections will be on Wednsedays. The blue cart is for recycling collection only. Please do NOT place plastic bags, trash, yard waste, or food waste in your blue cart.    
• Special Pickups (Bulk, White Goods, etc.) – Call in to schedule (727-452-5278). Waste Pro will provide curbside bulk collection four times per year to each residence at no additional cost.

Waste Pro provides collection and disposal service for all household trash and garbage generated from residential customers which has been properly prepared and stored.

Please place your household garbage, yard trash, and recycling curbside the night before your scheduled collection day or by 7 a.m. on the day of your scheduled service.

Collection Days:

Household garbage (solid waste & yard waste) is collected two (2) times per week.

Collection Days:
ZONE A: Mondays & Thursdays for areas North of the Treasure Island Causeway/107th Avenue.
ZONE B: Tuesdays & Fridays for areas South of the Treasure Island Causeway/107th Avenue and Paradise Lane.

Residential single-stream (commingled) recycling is collected one (1) time per week.

Recycle collections for the City will occur on Wednesdays.

Solid Waste & Yard Waste Collection:

• The grey cart is for solid waste and yard waste collections and should not exceed 50 lbs. in weight.
• Please bag all garbage before placing it in the grey cart.
• Properly prepared yard waste that does not fit in the provided grey cart can be placed curbside for collection if the waste is bagged, bundled, and two (2) cubic yards or less.
• Please bag all yard clippings/leaves.
• Palm fronds and tree limbs are not to exceed 50 lbs., 4 ft. in length, and should be placed curbside neatly stacked.

Side Door Service:
Medical side door service is available at no additional charge for residents who qualify medically during an annual qualification process.

Bulk Item Collection:
Bulk collection (ie: furniture, mattresses, tables) is available to each resident four times per year and up to two cubic yards of waste per pick up. Each bulk item should not exceed 50 lbs. in weight. Additional bulk item requests can be made for a special fee.

Waste Pro will be providing curbside bulk collection four (4) times per year and up to two (2) cubic yards of waste per pick up to each resident.

Items accepted at the curb:

• Household trash
• Yard waste
• Appliances
• Large items (mattresses, box springs, furniture)
• Electronics

Residential recycling collection in the City will occur on Wednesdays.

Recycle ALL TOGETHER!

Recycle these items:

• Plastic: Plastic Bottles, Buckets, Tubs & Containers #1-#7
• Mixed Paper: Paperback Books, Phonebooks, Junk Mail, Magazines, Catalogs, Newspapers & Inserts, Office Paper, File Folders, & Paper Bags
• Cardboard (flatten all boxes)
• Glass: Clear, Green, & Brown Glass Jars & Bottles
• Metal: Aluminum/Steel/Tin Cans & Empty Aerosol Containers

DO NOT place any of these items in garbage or recycling roll carts:

• Batteries                  
• Motor Oil
• Cooking Oil
• Chemicals or Solvents
• Electronics
• Hazardous Materials
• Paints

Commercial waste service can be provided with 96-gallon carts, front load containers (1-yd, 2-yd., 3-yd., 4-yd., 6-yd., 8-yd. container sizes), roll off boxes, and compactors.

Services for commercial trash and garbage will be conducted during the hours of 7:00am to 7:00 pm. Collection schedules will be determined by the needs and requirements of each establishment.
