Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) items are NOT picked up at curbside and require special handling and disposal. Residents should bring these items to the HHW Collection Center, located at the Central Transfer Station, 1950 State Road 419, Longwood. The center is open from 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., Monday – Saturday, excluding holidays, and accepts materials such as:

  1. Antifreeze
  2. Florescent Lamps
  3. Gasoline
  4. Rechargeable Batteries
  5. Paint
  6. Poisons
  7. Used Oil Filters
  8. Propane Tanks
  9. Pool & Lawn Chemicals
  10. Solvents – Thinners
  11. Thermometers (mercury)
  12. Aerosols
  13. Used Motor Oil
  14. Thermostats
  15. Automotive Batteries
  16. Pesticides

All containers brought to the center must be in good condition and have CLEARLY LABELED CONTENTS. Disposal is free for all Seminole County residents.
