Please note that as of Friday, February 27, 2015 Waste Pro will no longer be accepting new starts for the City of St. Petersburg Curbside Residential Recycling Service. Waste Pro will continue to service the City of St Petersburg through the end of May and then the City of St Petersburg will take over the service on June 1, 2015. Please visit the City of St Petersburg’s website for more information on their new Universal Recycling program.
The City of St. Petersburg Residential Curbside Recycle program allows for the collection of your household Recycle items one (1) time per week. Your collection day is based on your location. Click here to see the collection day map. Recycle collection starts at 7:00am and all Recycle material must be at the curb by 7:00am. Extra recycle that does not fit into the bin / can may be placed next to the bin / can inside an empty cardboard box with the words “EXTRA RECYCLE” written large and clear enough for the driver to see. Remember that the box cannot weigh more than fifty (50) pounds. Recycle items that are collected are:
Paper
- Newspaper
- Magazines
- Junk mail
- Telephone books
- Computer and Printer paper
- Brown, White and Colored Paper bags
- Paperboard cartons
- Wrapping Paper
- Catalogs
Cardboard
- Cereal boxes (without the plastic liner)
- Soda cartons (without plastic wrap)
- Cardboard Boxes (flattened and no larger than 4’ x 4’ square)
Glass
- ALL clear, brown and green glass FOOD and BEVERAGE bottles (must be rinsed out with no residue and lids or caps removed)
Plastic
- ALL plastic FOOD and BEVERAGE containers that have the Recycle symbol on them and a number of 1 – 7 inside the symbol (must be rinsed out with no residue and lids or caps removed)
- CLEAN #2 black nursery plant pots
Metal
- Aluminum FOOD and BEVERAGE cans (must be rinsed out with no residue and lids or caps removed)
- Tin FOOD and BEVERAGE cans (must be rinsed out with no residue and lids or caps removed)
- CLEAN Aluminum foil and pie pans
- EMPTY aerosol cans
NO PLASTIC BAGS, EGG CARTONS OR STYROFOAM OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED IN RECYCLE
