All items must be placed out curbside by 7:00 AM
If your service days differ than the ones listed above, then you are likely serviced by Volusia County and will have different guidelines to follow.
Each household in Orange City shall have one trash cart and one recycling cart. The fee for Solid Waste Services is included on each property owner’s annual tax bill. Maintenance of the carts is included in the annual fee. Should your carts require maintenance, please call Waste Pro at 407-774-0800.
There are no collection services on the following holidays.
All Services will resume on the following day. For example, if Monday is your service day, and this is a holiday, services will be on Tuesday.

Solid waste, or a combination of solid waste, which, because of quantity, concentration, or physical, chemical, or infectious characteristics, may cause, or significantly contribute to, an increase in mortality or an increase in serious irreversible or incapacitating reversible illness or may pose a substantial present or potential hazard to human health or the environment when improperly transported, disposed of, stored, treated, or otherwise managed. (Regulated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) pursuant to Chapter 62-730, Florida Administrative Code.)
Hazardous waste materials, such as paint, insecticides, motor oil, batteries, etc., are not collected and should be taken to the nearest hazardous waste drop-off site. Unfortunately, there is no electronic recycling program at this time.
Recycle materials shall be collected once per week. Please have your recycling cart curbside prior to 7:00 AM on your collection day.
Acceptable items: (Single Sort)
- Aluminum, steel and tin cans
- Glass- jars
- Plastic bottles and jugs (with or without caps)
- Paper, cardboard and newspaper
**Please make sure all items are clean and dry**
Unacceptable items:
- Plastic bags, plastic toys, plasticware
- Items contaminated with food
- Styrofoam
- Batteries
- Light bulbs
- Discarded electric cords or appliances
Please note, no additional recycling items can be placed outside of the cart or in plastic bags.

Waste Pro is the City’s current exclusive solid waste hauler for commercial and C&D service per Resolution 379-25 for a term of October 1 through September 30, 2026.
Please place your household garbage, recycling, and yard trash at the curbside (within 5ft of the edge of the road) by 7:00 a.m. on the day of your service.
Household Garbage (Monday)
This includes food scraps, food contaminated containers and cartons, paper towels, tissues, kitchen waste, old clothing/towels/sheets that cannot be donated or repurposed, diapers and other non-recyclables. All garbage must be bagged and placed inside the cart.
Yard Waste (Monday)
Includes grass, leaves, shrubs, tree trimmings and palm fronds. All yard waste is to be bagged, containerized or in tied bundles, except for palm fronds (they may be neatly stacked). The bags and/or bundles of limbs must be less than 50 pounds. Limbs should not exceed 4 feet in length or 6 inches in diameter. The yard waste limit is a maximum of 4 cubic yards or 10 bags.
Please note, wood fencing, landscape timbers, flowerpots, yard decorations, mulch and dirt are not considered. (Refer to Bulk tab)
Recycling (Tuesday)

BULK:
Regular Bulk pick-ups are on Mondays. This is limited to 4 cubic yards per week, and items must be able to be lifted by two people. This includes but is not limited to:
- Furniture
- TVs
- Empty large boxes
- Small remodels such as a toilet, a small bathroom cabinet, etc
- Carpet up to 10 tied rolls (each roll no longer than 4ft, no heavier than 50lbs)
- Kitchen cabinets up to 4 units (no larger than 4ft x 4ft each)
- Dishwasher (mainly plastic)
- Empty water softener
- Broken down basketball hoop
- Fencing up to 4 panels (cut to 4ft x 4ft, no nails exposed, neatly stacked)
APPLIANCES:
Appliances must be scheduled in advance for pickup by calling 407-774-0800 (Option 1) or requesting online in advance by Wednesday before 3:00 PM for Thursday pickup.

We provide special pickups for items like excessive fence debris, lumber or construction-type debris which are not included in regular household bulk waste.

Waste Pro is the City’s current exclusive solid waste hauler for commercial and C&D services, as per Resolution 379-25, for a term of October 1 through September 30, 2026.
Services for commercial trash and recycling can be provided at least one (1) time per week for customers that generate dry waste, and at least two (2) times per week for customers that generate putrescible waste (e.g. restaurants).
Services are provided seven days per week.
Waste will be collected in carts (for small businesses that don’t have room for a frontload dumpster), frontload dumpsters, open-top/roll-off dumpsters, or compactors. Carts are available in 96-gallon size. Frontload dumpsters are provided in 2-, 4-, 6- or 8-cubic yards in size. Compactors and open-tops/roll-offs are available in 20, 30, and 40 cubic yards.
