LONGWOOD, FL – November 19, 2024—Waste Pro has been recognized as the second largest family and privately-owned company in Central Florida by the Orlando Business Journal as part of the annual Golden 100 list. This is the 14th consecutive year the company has ranked in the top five. The company also ranked as one of Central Florida’s “Fast 50” fastest-growing companies.
Being a family and privately owned company, Waste Pro has a unique ability to grow competitively in a sustainable and strategic manner. For over 23 years, Waste Pro has been dedicated to providing solid waste and recycling collection services to cities and counties all over Florida as well as its eleven-state footprint in the Southeastern U.S. Today, the company proudly serves over two million residential and 100,000 commercial customers across approximately 300 exclusive municipal franchises and operates in nearly all Florida counties. “We pride ourselves on being Florida-based, privately owned, and family-operated,” shared President and CEO Sean Jennings, a third-generation garbage man.
Industry legend and second-generation garbage man John J. Jennings founded Waste Pro in 2001. Back then, he was committed to creating a more sustainable future through innovative waste management solutions and back-to-basics investment in local relationships with community partners. In 2020, John’s son, Sean Jennings, took up the family legacy, bringing a lifetime of industry knowledge to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, annual revenue is projected to exceed $1.3 billion for 2024, reaffirming the company’s commitment to sustainability and ability to adapt to changing market demands.
Orlando Business Journal ranks companies based on their percentage of total three-year revenue growth between 2021-2023. To be eligible for the list, companies must:
- Be at least 51% privately held
- Be headquartered in Central Florida, which includes Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia counties
