LONGWOOD, FL – April 5th, 2018 –At a ceremony held on March 22nd at Waste Pro’s Orlando, Florida facility, the company recognized Osley Castillo for his excellence in service by presenting him with his $10,000 Safety Award.
With Waste Pro since 2014, Castillo is a residential recycling truck driver providing collection services to the west side Orange County his daily routes, encompassing nearly 2,000 homes. He’s also a resident of Orange County, but is originally from Cuba.
With more than 3 fatal accidents involving workers every month, waste collection is one of the ten most dangerous jobs in the United States. To encourage employees to exhibit practices which are safe for themselves as well as for the communities they service, Waste Pro established the $10,000 Safety Award.
Employees earn the Waste Pro Safety Award as a result of: a spotless work record for three years, excellent customer service, no accidents, injuries, or property damage, having a positive attitude and attendance record, along with a well-kept truck.
