FORT MYERS, FL – Waste Pro is proud to announce that 13-year waste industry veteran and 11-year employee, Labbe Etienne, a Lehigh Acres, Florida resident, recently received a certificate of appreciation from Lee County officials for providing excellent service to customers in the North Fort Myers area.
“Labbe has been a great help in the multi-family bulk collection system,” wrote Chris Marinell, Environmental Specialist at the Lee County Solid Waste Department, in a letter of appreciation to the Fort Myers division team. “We believe Labbe to be a very important part of your team, which in turn makes him an important part of our collective team. His ability to be flexible and help out where needed in his area has been a huge help to his supervisors and teammates.”
This is the first time that Lee County has recognized a solid waste employee for their performance on the job.
“We strive to be community partners within the municipalities we serve and to cultivate the mindset of ‘doing whatever it takes to be the best at what we do’ within our teams,” said Keith Banasiak, Waste Pro Southwest Regional Vice President. “Labbe is a great example of someone who embodies the added value that we stand for.”
Labbe, who serves the North Fort Myers market, speaks French, Creo
le and Spanish, which has allowed him to develop strong relationships within the communities he serves.
“My service area is very diverse,” said Labbe. “Many of the customers I serve every day speak limited English and it makes a difference to them when someone goes out of their way to have a conversation with them. This award is more than a public recognition to me, it’s a reminder to me and my two daughters, Lunecia and Laurena, that no matter where you come from or what you do for a living, what’s important is how much pride you take in the work that you do.”
