Atlanta Goes Green with Waste Pro: Recycling Facility Re-Opens December 7, 2015 ATLANTA – November 23rd – In late October, local residents cleared up some of the mystery surrounding the process of recycling as they joined Waste Pro in celebrating the Grand Re-Opening of its Atlanta Materials Recovery Facility. The event took place at the facility, American Recycling of Georgia, a Waste Pro company, which is located at 4785 Fulton Industrial Blvd. Attendees got a front row seat to view the enhancements made to the facility and learn about how the equipment newly added to the sorting line will be used. Today the City of Atlanta is Waste Pro’s largest customer of residential single-stream material, Waste Pro recognizes the need to expand convenient, but environmentally friendlier options for residents of the community to recycle. “The Reduce, Reuse, Recycle mantra is fundamental to our operation,” said John Jennings, CEO and Founder of Waste Pro. “Waste Pro sets the industry standard with advanced technologies that consistently convey our long-term objective to achieve enduring solutions to environmental challenges.” American Recycling of Georgia sits on nearly 42 acres, which includes a building spanning more than 350,000 sq. ft. with 66,000 sq. ft. dedicated to the single-stream Materials Recovery Facility. It will service the City of Douglasville and Gwinnett County, along with surrounding commercial businesses in downtown Atlanta and will accept: mixed use paper, plastic, aluminum, and cardboard. The facility is permitted to process 700 tons of recycled material during a 24-hour period, and currently averages 3,500 – 4,500 tons per month.
